Fantastic antique 1890s to early 1900s ribbed brown silk and velvet walking skirt from the late Victorian or early Edwardian era. The fabric is a heavy ribbed silk in a rich caramel brown hue featuring vertical striped arrow point panels of darker brown velvet. Styled with a fitted waistband and very full paneled silhouette with a sweeping hem and slightly elongated back. I love that the designer paid attention to the hem as well which showcases inverted hand-stitched scallops and narrow pleats between each velvet panel. The skirt is fully lined with a glazed cotton under skirt that has it's own double layered hem including an innermost straight ribbed silk hem followed by a caramel hued silk taffeta layer trimmed with robin's egg blue ruffles. She closes with hooks and eyes at waistband partially down the upper portion of skirt with two adjustable loops at waistband. There are also two hooks at inner sides of back waistband that would have originally attached onto a matching bodice.
