$300.00

Invoke your inner Batman in this authentic antique early 1920s velvet dress featuring unique, sheer sleeves patterned with multiple strands of swirling crimped blue embroidery secured into place with metallic bullion thread! The dress is styled with a rounded neckline, the fantastic embroidered sheer sleeves with extended loops at the hems, drop waistline enhanced with a partially attached velvet waistband embellished with strands of faceted black beads and larger medallions and an ankle length skirt with 15" slits on the front and back sides to show off the matching blue embroidery featured on the skirt of the detached under slip. The overdress has button closures up the left side waist up to shoulder seam and around the upper portion of the left sleeve. The under slip has snap closures down back with hook and eye closures at/below waistband.

*Over dress can easily fit a medium size - the under slip however is size small with a 26" waist. If the bodice portion of the under slip was re-constructed (see condition of under slip below) it can be made to accommodate a medium.

Condition: Good could be Great with some TLC to under slip. The overdress is in very nice structural shape. Main issue is the blue embroidery has faded in areas. Other than that some hand stitches at top of slits, lights wear to velvet with some minor thread pulls to embroidery.

The under slip is in fair condition but with some TLC she can be worn again. As you can see in the last pic, the shoulders have bad tearing to the silk and the fabric here should be replaced. The creamy silk portion has discoloration which will never been seen when wearing and there is spotting and sloppy finishing along the grosgrain waistband with 3 missing hook/eyes. The skirt portion with embroidery (9th pic shows close-up) is in great condition and is the only portion of the under slip that is viewable when wearing the dress.

Enjoy!
