HOLD Edwardian Black Tape Lace Evening Coat, 1910s - 1920 Lace Jacket, Large - XL

Amazing antique 1910s 1920s ornamental silk floral cutwork, tape lace and soutache evening coat with a flared silhouette. The detailing on this coat is superb featuring superimposed silk taffeta floral cutwork designs and loads of overlapping swirling tape lace amidst tightly coiled soutache and braid! Two silk flower appliqués with coiled petal tassels accent the top sides of V'd collar and the coat closes with hooks and eyes down the front. The coat is lined with silk taffeta and also has a layer of knife pleated sheer thin silk in-between this lining and the outer ornamental design. Condition: Near Excellent
A few minor breaks to some cutwork & connector threads around shoulders. The interior sheer silk lining has some small tears / dangling threads around hemline. Minor tear to inner nape of silk taffeta lining. Also note a loop closure was added at nape to lining. Hand stitched seam to right sleeve with interior allowance.
