Dreamy vintage reconstructed 1930s - 1940s black sheer net and lace evening dress! Fantastic puffed sleeves, flattering lace accents throughout and romantic long back sashes. At first glance, I thought this gown was a nightgown and I do think she'd be great for a boudoir photoshoot.
This gown was re-fashioned at some point. The back construction and closures are strange with an added inset piece of sheer net (could be removed for a more seductive back) and snap closures with a slight criss-cross of the lace which conceals the added metal zip closure of the taffeta lining at center back. The original lining closures would have been snaps on the left hand side as visible impressions remain. There is also a small seam opening here that needs to be re-stitched down. Small V'd insets were also added to the back of lining - see pics.
Presents beautifully and can definitely be worn with some little construction quirks!
