1930s Brown Bouclé Wool Coat with Fox Fur Collar | I.J. Fox Fifth Avenue Pre-War Winter Jacket

Beautiful late 1930s to early 1940s pre-war winter coat by high-end furrier company I.J. Fox, Fifth Avenue, New York, crafted in a richly textured warm brown bouclé wool and trimmed with a dramatic natural fox fur shawl collar. Fully lined in silk satin, this is a true luxury city coat with fantastic tailoring. The bouclé wool has that perfect looped, pebbly texture that gives softness without losing structure. The silhouette is wonderfully sculpted through the waist with fluid shaping through the hips and hem, finished with side slit pockets and a wrap-style front with snap closure and original side belt tie for an elegant, flattering fit. The fox fur collar is full and dimensional with deep brown tips and soft golden underfur. Hidden snap closures are added beneath each side of the fur collar, allowing you to fasten the under-fur into soft pleated pockets beneath the outer fur when closed — a beautifully functional and unusual design detail.

Condition: Good wearable condition with light wear. The fur remains soft and full - there are 2 'bald?' sections where you can see the leather underneath with some stitching (see last 2 close-up pics of fur). A few small holes near the lower skirt and some minor surface texture wear / pricks & pulls to the bouclé, as shown in photos.
