Antique 1890s Floral Cotton Dress | Victorian Sheer Gown with Ruched Sleeves, Ruffle Trim & Train | Edwardian Cabbage Roses Day Dress | XS

Romantic antique late Victorian to early Edwardian dress, crafted from semi-sheer, lightweight floral cotton in a soft celadon green–cyan blue hue. The fabric is woven with vertical striping and scattered with pink cabbage rose bouquets, lending the gown an airy, floaty presence with beautiful drape and gentle translucence.

The bodice is styled with dramatic ruching and a fitted neckline, accented by a gathered and ruffled ivory silk collar detail that cascades down the front and curves across the right bust. Full-length sleeves are intricately ruched with layered, split ruffle shoulder caps and delicate flounced cuffs. Lined in cotton, the bodice closes with hook/eyes down center of cotton lining. The front collar detail closes with two hook/loops and 1 modern replacement hook/eye closure. The full trailing skirt is gathered at the waist and finished with a sweeping triple flounce hem. The skirt closes with 1 hook/eye at center back waistband.

*Dress form was pictured with original petticoat underneath that IS INCLUDED. The original trained ivory cotton petticoat features a double tiered ruffled cream silk hem. The petticoat is in good- condition with faint spotting and some tears to silk hem trim. Please email for pics of the petticoat*

Condition: Good to Very Good / Structurally Very Sound!
Light scattered spots and discoloration throughout, with the most notable areas shown in photos. The celadon green–cyan blue hue has faded over time — most noticeably when comparing the front skirt to the back. Cotton lining bodice has some staining. Teensy hole next to threaded loop on left center bust for collar closure.

Please note: the skirt has been freshly cleaned by hand. The bodice has not been cleaned. I do think it would clean up very nicely but with the silk collar and trim, I will leave this up to the buyer.
