Ethereal vintage 1920s Boué Soeurs pale blush pink silk nightgown featuring ornate embroidery on thin silk/cotton voile and mixed lace including Filet Boué, a type of filet lace, which was developed by the Boué Soeurs own lacemakers! This nightgown is styled with wide silk satin ribbon shoulder straps which meet the scooped filet lace trimmed neckline. The center front bust is accented with an inset of ornate floral embroidered cotton/silk voile from which extends tiny vertical pintucks. Mixed lace including the Boué filet lace are inset down the front and back sides. The lower center front silk portion has tiny embroidered knots graduating into the more ornate floral embroidery, including bleeding hearts, when it meets a larger swath of the sheer cotton/silk voile towards the bottom skirt portion. Scalloped filet lace trims this large embroidered section followed by a smaller inset of embroidered cotton/silk voile, an inset of mixed lace, mesh net and then culminating with the Boué filet lace scalloped hem. The silk sandwiched between the front/back sides of mixed lace features floral embroidered appliqués with the signature bow embroidered floral wreath before the mixed lace hem. The back has pleats at each center side with 6 button/loop closures and one top hook/loop.
A breathtaking masterpiece in romantic fashion from the 1920s with an eye to attention to detail!

About the label: The Boué Soeurs Parisian fashion house was opened in 1899 by two sisters, Madame Sylvie Montegut and Baronne Jeanne d'Etreillis operating under their maiden name Boué. The sisters designs were very romantic and ornate feminine creations, which is exemplified in this nightgown. You can find other examples of Boué Soeurs garments at The Met Museum.
