Rare 1840s 1850s Victorian Petticoat Dress Underdress, Authentic Antique White Corded Cotton Full Skirt Dress Defined V Waist, XXS - XS

Rare authentic antique late 1840s - 1850s mixed lace trimmed white cotton underdress / petticoat dress featuring a defined V waistline with fantastic cartridge pleating for a sweeping full corded cotton skirt! This Victorian undergarment dress would have been worn underneath your dress to help achieve the desired voluminous skirt of the era. I think she could easily be worn as a day dress or even tasteful wedding dress today.

She's styled with a scalloped lace trimmed wide set V neckline with flattering long bodice seams that come to the center V of the waistline. The fitted bodice and nipped V waistline are further enhanced by the tiny cartridge pleats of the skirt which help create such a full silhouette for the skirt which 7/8ths is corded around in graduating widths. The skirt is trimmed in scalloped broderie anglaise / eyelet lace. The dress close with MOP buttons down the back partially into the skirt with a hook/eye at waist.

A fantastic example of hand-sewn historical fashion from the first half of the 19th century!
