1890s Victorian Dress, Ivory China Silk Antique Leg of Mutton Sleeve Victorian Wedding Dress Set

Beautiful mid 1890s Victorian dress in incredibly soft creamy ivory China silk! This silk has the most heavenly feel - luxurious, soft and light without that fragile feeling. A dainty floral design is imprinted on the silk as well. She's styled with a fitted round neckline with ruching, a gathered bust and nipped waistline accented with a matching fabric cummerbund. The leg of mutton sleeves are definitely eye-catching with scalloped lace trimmed 'wings' accenting the tops, followed by voluminous ballooning and a tapered hem. The bodice closes with two hook/loops at outer silk, at neck and waist with hook/eyes down interior cotton lined under bust with a thin layer of cotton batting over top. The cummerbund snaps into place on the left hand side of waist. The interior cotton has boning at each inner seam.

The sweeping ankle to floor skirt has tiny gathers below center back waistband that creates such lovely cascading waves down the back. The skirt is fully lined with soft cotton and I can feel the smallest amount of cotton padding in-between the outer China silk and cotton lining. Corduroy-like velvet hem protector trims the skirt hem. The skirt closes at back waistband with 2 hooks and 3 eyes (a modern eye has been added to allow for an extra 1/2 inch.

A beautiful ensemble from the mid 1890s - quite possibly could have been a wedding ensemble.

Condition: Good to Very Good / Silk is structurally amazing.
Underarm yellowing. 2 yellow discolorations on right sleeve hem and 1 on ballooned part. A few other areas of faint yellowing / spotting (most notable shown).
