Victorian 1850s 1860s Dress, Antique Civil War Era Dress, Striped Silk Wool Day Dress, Fabulous Bishop Sleeves, Velvet Buttons Full Skirt XS

Antique 1860s Victorian day dress in a striped wool & silk blend interwoven with an interesting tiny weave of sea green and brown throughout featuring black velvet buttons & trim and the most fantastic tiered bishop style sleeves! The dress is styled with a fitted round neckline and flattering double seamed fitted bodice with sloping shoulders and dropped armholes. Non-functional velvet buttons adorn the center bodice extending all the way to the hem with adjacent button accents on both sides. The pleated skirt is very full with a hidden front right side pocket. A hoop skirt would most likely have been used underneath to showcase its fullness. The bodice portion and first tier of sleeve are fully lined in cotton muslin and the inner skirt hem is lined in glazed cotton.
