Superb antique 1880s deep blue cut velvet long tailed bodice jacket! Floral iris cut velvet design - I love the sheen when the light hits at certain angles. Styled with crochet covered button down closures with three closures at sleeve hems, extremely flattering seam-work, front V hem and an elongated back pleated and tailed hem! Fully lined in striped silk with boning at each interior seam. The back tails, interior neckline and sleeve hems are lined in iridescent metallic bronze silk taffeta. Interior grosgrain waistband with hook/eye closures stamped "Hollister" 13 Congress St. Chicago IL.
