Victorian 1890s Dress, 2pc Brown Silk Victorian Bodice and Skirt Set, Antique Cut Steel Flower Shank Buttons, 25 Waist

Lovely 1890s 2pc Victorian brown silk dress set featuring 16 ornamental cut steel shank buttons with a flower design. The bodice is styled with a wing collar neckline and rounded pleated front with the button down closures (top 17th button is missing). Gathered long sleeves with cuffed hems and flattering princess seamed back that ends in a V point. Fully lined in cotton muslin and boned at 5 interior seams. Four hooks are stitched onto interior back seams that close onto eyes on the skirt. Small interior bust pocket.

The sweeping ankle to floor length skirt has a fitted waistband, hidden side pocket and ruffled flounced hem. The skirt is lined in calico print cotton with an additional overlay of natural linen stitched to the hem and a velvet hem protector. The skirt closes with a hook/eye at center back waistband and has four eyes stitched to interior waistband that close onto the hooks of interior bodice.
