Edwardian Gibson Girl Dress, Antique 1900s Dress, Green Silk Linen & Spiderweb Lace Skirt Bodice, Turn of the Century Historical Fashion XXS

Museum quality, antique turn of the century late 1890s to early 1900s nubby green and cream silk linen Gibson Girl dress, pigeon breast bodice and trained skirt set!

The skirt is fabulous designed with a fitted waistband and a center front overlay of cream scalloped spiderweb lace that extends almost to the hem. Two tiered 'triplicate' gathered strands encircle the skirt for added dimension and detail. The hem is made up of three tuck seams and the backside extends into a small train. The skirt closes with double hook/eyes at waistband and three hook/eyes extending partially down. The skirt is fully lined in avocado green glazed cotton with a triple tiered and ruffled hem.

The bodice has a lace covered silk standing collar neckline trimmed in gathers of sheer silk chiffon. The yoke is covered in spiderweb lace overtop ivory silk. Triple tiered gathered ‘strands’ encircle the upper bust from which gathers extend to the blouson style pigeon breast waistline with ruching underneath the pouched center. The sleeves are fantastic with another section of the gathered tiered strands followed by a sweeping gathered poof trimmed in lace before the silk and lace trimmed cuffs. The waistline has a subtle V’d front and is also trimmed in the avocado green glazed cotton. The entire bodice (except silk yoke) is also fully lined in a fitted avocado green cotton and is boned at five of the interior seams. The bodice closes up the center back with hook and eyes.
