Victorian 1880s Embroidered Beaded Velvet Cape with Macrame Fringe, Antique Cape, Ornamental Floral Design, Museum Quality

Outstanding antique Victorian brown velvet cape featuring ornamental floral embroidery throughout trimmed with tiny black beads amongst tiny stitched and beaded sections that give off a quilted look! The photos just do not do this cape justice - the craftsmanship here is quite amazing and well thought out. Gathered black silk taffeta trims the neckline extending partially down the left side which helps to conceal the hook/eye closures. The wide winged arms with long braided silk macrame fringe leave plenty of room to swing the cape out for a dramatic visage. The cape is lined with silk in a quilted texture with a thin layer of cotton padding in-between. An interior waist tie attached at center back is used to tie around the waist to help keep the cape in place.

Back Length: Approx. 36 1/2" to fringe hem
Wing Span: Approx. 77" end to end laid flat (not including fringe)

A handful of minor orangish discolorations to velvet.
Wear to interior lining with some tearing. Wear to interior waist tie.
Minor wear to silk taffeta trim.
