1860s Green Silk Pointed Victorian Bodice and Re-Fashioned 1910s Dress, Antique Historical Dress

Gorgeous antique Victorian 1860s bodice jacket and dress refashioned in the 1910s. Made of high quality ribbed green silk, the bodice jacket is authentic 1860s and in near excellent condition! She's styled with a fitted round neckline, long sleeves with crimped cream silk trimming the sleeve hems, sloped shoulders, gorgeous faceted cut glass button down closures, super flattering double seams at each front and back sides and the dramatic pointed front and back hems! The bodice jacket is fully lined in glazed cotton and boned at every seam with exception of two back curved side seams. An inner waistband of glazed lined green silk has hook/eye closures.

After numerous discussions with other antique clothing collectors and dealers, the dress appears to have been re-fashioned in the 1910s and labeled on the interior waistband by the tailor who re-designed the original 1860s skirt or dress. She's styled with a winged collar neckline trimmed in cream floral lace, fine black floral net lace sleeves and split front bodice, cream net lace under bust over top which is a strapless green shelf bust, nipped waistline and tiered floor length skirt trimmed velvet. The skirt tiers have ivory silk lining. The dress closes with snaps down the interior cream lace bust, hook/eye closures at interior grosgrain waistband, hook/eye closures at outer waistband and snaps along velvet trim of first skirt tier with hook/eyes extending down the inner silk lining of first skirt tier.

The re-made dress did have sheer silk lining the black net lace bodice and sleeves, however, it was shattering and I removed most of the remnants - however, the interior sleeve hems show evidence of the prior silk.

Re-fashioned Dress: Overall Good
Long vertical darn to black net lace at upper right back to top front shoulder area along with some breaks to black net. Former silk remnants at interior sleeve hems. Minor glazed spot along velvet trim of last skirt tier. Small break along center seam at back skirt hem. Top skirt tier needs a side closure. Tiny visible ecru colored threads from closures.

You have to be really careful with the net sleeves on her - they lace is so delicate and needs to be handled very gently.
