1860s Victorian Plaid Silk Taffeta Polonaise Jacket Bodice, Rare Historical Antique Bodice, XXS

Outstanding example of an authentic antique 1860s blue, green and red silk taffeta polonaise jacket bodice! Styled with a fitted round neckline, button down bodice with flattering triplicate seams at each side waist, nipped waist and defined waistband with closures, open front swept peplum skirt that cascades into an elongated pointed back and a triple layered 'bow' detail extending from center back. Quintessential sloped shoulders and long sleeves with velvet trim hems. The jacket is fully lined in cotton twill and boned at the front side waist seams. The waistband has four hook / eye closures and two snaps were added.

Silk taffeta is fine and has some wear - most notable at right shoulder where there is a tear along the plaid pattern line that cuts through to lining (9th collage). Some minor holes to back skirt. A few minor discloration spots.
