Late 1910s Early 1920s Dress, Antique Lace & Tiered Silk Drop Waist Dress, Fox Label, M/L - Large

Antique late 1910's to early 1920's beige floral net lace and black silk taffeta dress by Fox. Styled with a velvet trimmed V neckline with a scalloped lace collar, velvet trimmed lace and mesh 3/4 length sleeves and a drop waist illusion bodice with a sleeveless silk taffeta under bust covered in the fine antique lace embellished with faceted steel cut studs in floral designs. A gathered silk taffeta drop waistband with velvet trim leads way to the tiered skirt. You can tell this was considered a high quality garment - even the lace that's hidden by the first tier extends further down both the front and back skirt along with lovely gathering of the taffeta.

The bodice is fully lined with ivory cream silk with an interior silk grosgrain waistband stamped "Fox 10 East 57th St Paris - New York". There are quite a few closures on the bodice. The interior ivory cream silk closes down the front with hook/eyes. Sandwiched between this silk and black silk taffeta illusion bust is a very fine layer of sheer silk which is partially attached to the black silk taffeta and closes with smaller hook/loops down the center. The black taffeta portion has a small center flap section which hooks into place on the front left bodice. Lastly, the fine floral lace with the faceted steel stud 'flower' designs closes down the center front with clasp hooks and loops. One snap closure at taffeta waistband and two snaps down center taffeta skirt.

Condition: Good-Very Good! You will need an additional helping hand with all the closures.
*Three darns to lace & some holes (most notable shown). (I darned the other medium size hole on back after I listed her). Yellowing to lace on back and at left sleeve.
Fine silk sandwiched between inner most silk lining and black taffeta has torn at inner shoulder - doesn't affect structural integrity and will not be noticed when wearing.

*There was an additional very fine silk sleeve attached to interior bodice, however, it was badly torn so I removed it.*
