RESERVED 1890s 1900s Victorian Red & Black Lace Trim Dress Bodice and Skirt, Antique Historical Dress, XS

Amazing crimson red antique Victorian dress / bodice and skirt set circa late 1890s early 1900s featuring striking black floral cutwork lace trim, tiers of silk and a fringed silk sash.

The bodice is styled with a high velvet collar neckline followed by tiers of silk taffeta making up the yoke. A partially attached gathered red silk taffeta sash encircles the tiered yoke ending in a tie bow with elongated black braided fringed hems. The center tie bow is held into place underneath the winged wide-set bodice featuring cutwork lace trim. The long sleeves are just as detailed styled with diagonal pleats, insets of cutwork lace and pointed hems. Incredibly flattering vertical seams on the front / back bodice culminate into a black velvet trimmed waistband with a left side flared half bow. The bodice is fully lined in glazed cotton, boned at every interior seam and there's an additional interior silk waistband with hook/eye closure. The glazed cotton lining closes with hooks/eyes down the front. The tiered silk yoke closes onto the glazed cotton lining at left side bust and shoulder with hooks/loops. Three hooks closes the velvet collar at center back. An additional two hooks at interior back waist connect to the skirt.

The high low skirt is designed with a black satin waistband and a quadruple stitched zigzag design trimmed with black cutwork lace. The front and back feature flattering vertical pleats with an elongated center back showcasing double the pleats. The skirt closes at the back satin waistband with two large hook/eyes and three large snaps hidden underneath the pleated placket. Two eyes at inner waistband for the bodice to hook into. The skirt is fully lined with red silk taffeta.

Condition: Good / Very Good!

Bodice: Some wear to taffeta tiers (most notable at left shoulder due to closures) and silk taffeta sash / bow. Taffeta lining collar has tearing with minor wear to edges of velvet collar.

Skirt: Taffeta lining has tearing throughout. Lightened area on front skirt (1/3 up from hem) and less notable lightened area 10" down from waist with a handful of tiny / minor holes. Minor tear just below last snap on back closure. Silk waistband has some wear.
