1900s Edwardian Patterned Check Wool Skirt & Black Silk Net Bodice, Antique Day Dress Bodice and Skirt Set, Large

Lovely antique 1900s Edwardian dress ~ bodice and skirt set. I purchased this as a set, however, they are not true set mates and the materials are different. They look fantastic together so I'm selling as a set.

The skirt is outstanding in black wool featuring a beige check pattern highlighted at the waistband and in-between the skirt pleats creating a fun peek-a-boo effect. Interior grosgrain waistband with hook/eye closures at center back with 4 snap closures down skirt. Side button closure at waistband. Matching fabric belt with left side snap closure featuring a large button accent.

The bodice is made of a mid-weight black silk with an interior cream silk bodice inset featuring a split mid collar neckline and bust covered in stripes of black silk net. Flattering tuck seams, cropped length and hook/eye closures at front left side waistline. The bodice is fully lined in glazed black cotton that closes down center front with hook/eyes and is fully boned. The silk bust insert is lined with cream cotton and hooks onto glazed cotton at waist and up left inner bodice around to collar.

Bodice: holes /tears to silk net overlay. 1 small hole to glazed cotton lining.

Skirt: Near excellent! Slight musty smell, 2 tiny wear specks.
