Rare Victorian Edwardian Paisley Bodice Blouse with Sweeping Net Lace Bell Sleeves

Wrap yourself in romance with this insanely beautiful cerise pink paisley print silk 1900s Edwardian bodice with emerald green velvet trim. The jaw dropping Juliet style sleeves feature sweeping ecru-hued scalloped lace bell sleeve hems with padded floral embroidery on net lace. She's magical and I have never laid eyes upon an authentic antique garment with such vibrant hues and character!

She's styled with a short V'd front neckline and a stand up back collar of 5 layers of fine scalloped net lace with emerald green velvet accenting the center back. Two thin bones are stitched to the interior back collar to maintain the upright shape. The silk paisley is designed in vertical pin tucks throughout featuring curved cutouts at the upper front bodice sides, followed by velvet trimmed in the paisley print. An emerald green velvet yoke extends down to the front waist, which has a different printed silk extension (not original to bodice). The back waist has 10 eyes on cotton tape.

Her sleeves are enchanting - fairly roomy straight cut with pin tuck seams past the elbow where the open scalloped lace hem starts to extend out at the interior sleeve with velvet accenting the outer portion of the sleeve. Bodice is lined with a pale violet gray cotton. A series of hooks/eyes and snaps for closures.

Condition: Good- She has been altered. Alteration notes below.
3/4" shorn area on front left bodice. Less conspicuous shorn areas underneath the underarms & wear to pin tuck edges. 1 back pin tuck seam needs to be re-stitched down. Color bleed to underarms & a few minor spots. There is a cut to velvet & cotton at V neckline (see left 2 images on 9th collage) and some minor spots to velvet.

*Alteration Notes:
Her front has been altered to a more accommodating fit. The inner cotton bodice has been folded down inside at the top. I actually love the V neck but her original state would have closed with hooks and eyes up further on interior cotton bodice. The waist has been altered with the addition of a double grosgrain placket with modern eye closures that the inner right side cotton waist hooks onto. The grosgrain placket has wear near the closures - you'll want to reinforce this or replace with a new stronger placket. Addition of printed silk to front hem - which is not aligned but has a closure so I did not attempt to investigate.
