Edwardian Wrapper Dress, Antique 1900s Pink Calico Print House Dress, Museum Quality, Small
Pristine museum quality early 1900s Edwardian calico wrapper dress with Bishop sleeves. I have had the pleasure of owning a few antique wrappers / house dresses from this era but this one appears to have barely been worn and was preserved wonderfully. Her calico print and color is truly special with bright pink 3 leaf clovers & crescent moons amidst scattered 'H' type designs with a black background. Her yoke is perfection featuring flower chain fabric pleats with contrasting fabric on reverse for that extra attention to detail. Black and white scalloped edging trims the ruffled yoke and collar neckline. She has a loose outer fit with a fitted inner bodice with button closures, crisscross belt that can gather in the waist and a floor length flounced hem. She has flattering pleating down the center back extending underneath the back waistband.
Please note: I did reach out to the Vintage Fashion Guild for their expertise on dating this wrapper as I was questioning the age due to the immaculate quality of the fabric. After reading their input, I do believe this is an authentic antique wrapper dress. You can read what various members of the FG said here: https://bit.ly/3jVGXFW
